This is pure speculation based on the Pollstar.com - I have gone through the top 50 list on the site, and based on the bands & artists upcoming concerts, I have listed the bands and artists that are available for the Virgin Fest in Cape Town and Joburg, and those that are not.

I didn’t check all the top 50 artists on Pollstar as they probably wouldn’t play at the SA Virgin Fest anyway (Eagles, Elton John etc.).

Staind and koRn have already played in Cape Town and we saw them at the My Coke Fest in 2007 and 2008 respectively.

LINKIN PARK would be just awesome. Please not the Jonas Brothers, we want proper bands!

I think we can rule out Korn and Staind, as they have both played here recently. I really am crossing fingers for the Foo Fighters please……………they have never been to SA. Have a feeling about Linkin Park too, very popular in SA. Would love to see Stone temple pilots, but unlikley as Chris Cornell was here in March for Coke fest. Dunno

Just echoing the sentiments for LINKIN PARK- they need to visit SA already!

Would also kill to see INCUBUS (that would be heaven!!) and Robin Thicke…

I actually hope that Linkin Park, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, etc save themselves for next years MyCokeFest rather than join this pathetic lineup.

I would rather slit my wrists than attend another one of these badly organised, badly promoted rock jock infested showcases of so-called South African “talent”. Prime Circle plays some of the worst, most unoriginal Nickleback inspired radio rock I’ve ever heard before in my life - I’m ashamed that international acts come to our shores believing that this drivel is the best that we have to offer.

Top 40 alt-rock bands like Korn, Linkin Park, and Staind may be what the ignorant masses are braying for, but bringing exactly the same commercial rock to our beautiful country as all of the other pathetic festivals do defeats the purpose of the V-Fest completely. The lineup in other countries is always eclectic and interesting, why does our country always have to be the one that completely bastardizes the concept of rock ‘n’ roll?

My choice for the V-Fest? (Bear in mind that these bands fill stadiums elsewhere in the world, and are - for the most part - considered “pop” music)
